All individuals interested in attending the American School of Beauty & Esthetics in either our Accra, Ghana or US campuses are required to tour the facility and meet with an Admissions Representative.

Tuition and Student Kit

Yes. Prospective students are welcome to schedule a tour to learn more about our programs, training environment, and admissions process.

The requirements that must be met to enroll at Virginia Institute of Beauty & Esthetics include:
Age: 16
Education: Providing proof of high school graduation or equivalent (GED).
Other Requirements: Submit an application, pay a $100 non-refundable application fee, submit a letter of recommendation, a government-issued ID, passport size photo, and social security card. Once received, an Admissions Manager will schedule an interview.

Our programs welcome working adults, parents, career-changers, recent high school graduates, and individuals balancing busy lives. We also welcome aspiring beauty professionals—including lash artists, nail enthusiasts, skincare lovers, and creatives—whether licensed or not, who want formal training and a legitimate pathway into the esthetics industry.
No prior licensure is required to enroll. Our programs are designed to provide foundational education, supervised hands-on training, and preparation for Virginia state licensure, where applicable.

No prior experience is required. Our programs are designed for beginners as well as students transitioning from other careers. We’ll teach you everything from skin anatomy to advanced techniques. All foundational knowledge and practical skills are taught as part of the curriculum through theory and hands-on practice. If you’re passionate about skin and ready to learn, you belong here.

In-Person: You may visit the Admissions office to apply in-person. Bring a valid ID, 2 passport-sized photos, and your academic credentials.
Online: Apply through our website by completing the application form and submitting the required documents. An admissions representative will contact you to guide you through the next steps.

No. Submitting an application does not guarantee acceptance. All applications are reviewed to ensure applicants meet admission requirements and are a good fit for the program. Admission decisions are communicated after the review process is complete. If you are selected into our program, you will receive instructions regarding enrollment, orientation, and start dates.

Upon successful completion of the program and all required training hours, graduates are eligible to apply for the Virginia state licensure examination in their field of study. State licensure is granted by the Commonwealth of Virginia after successfully passing the examination.
Virginia Institute of Beauty & Esthetics is a state-approved licensing school, and completion of a program at a licensed institution is required to qualify for the Virginia licensure exam.

While employment is not guaranteed, we provide career readiness support, including resume guidance, interview preparation. We host Career Industry Day to help graduates prepare for employment opportunities.

Virginia Institute of Beauty & Esthetics does not accept transfer hours at this time. Students must complete the full 600-hour program at Virginia Institute of Beauty & Esthetics to qualify for graduation and eligibility for state licensure.
