Deepen your love of skincare in our Basic Esthetics Program at Virginia Institute of Beauty & Esthetics (VIBE). This 600-hour, state-approved course prepares students for Virginia licensure and professional employment in spa and clinical skincare settings.

Students receive structured academic instruction, guided technical training, and supervised clinical experience to ensure they graduate confident, competent, and prepared to sit for the state board examination for licensure by the Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation (DPOR).
​
Training includes: Facial treatments and skin analysis, Skincare fundamentals and advanced exfoliation, Hair removal and waxing techniques, Makeup application, and professional consultation and sanitation standards
The clinic serves as a full-day luxury spa for real clients from the community, and students perform services, such as facials, waxing, body treatments, and more. All services are provided under the direct supervision of licensed instructors. Students may continue their education by advancing to the Master Esthetics level.

The Basic Esthetics Program follows a structured progression model designed to build competence, confidence, and board-readiness to pass state exams.
PHASE 1
Foundational Instruction
Students begin with classroom-based theory, demonstrations, and safety training to establish a strong foundation in skin science, sanitation standards, and Virginia regulations.

The 600-Hour Basic Esthetics Program provides comprehensive instruction in skin science, clinical technique, sanitation standards, and professional practice required for Virginia licensure.
